Default Clutch noises

I've been hearing some things from what i think is my clutch. When it is cold, and I go to start the car up, I push in the clutch and turn the ignition. When I do this, I get a pretty loud/annoying "metal to metal" sound when i have the clutch pushed in. It stops once I release the clutch.

Also, after I start the car, there is a "squeaking" noise that I hear. If I put my foot on the clutch pedal ever so slightly, it goes away. I take it off and the noise comes back. Any ideas what this may be?

you might need a new clutch and the squeaking you hear is the throwout bearing

Honestly, I really don't know. My exhaust is pretty loud and maybe I just don't hear it when I drive.

Not sure. Is it supposed too? Is there a way to check? Sorry for sounding so dumb, but I have zero clue about cars.

Yes it should. You will need to jack it up and support it. There will be a plug on the side of the tranny maybe 1/2 ways up (not at the bottom thats the drain). It takes a 3/8 drive ratchet. The fluid should be 1/4 from the plug. You can stick your finger in there or cut a clothes hanger and bend it to see if there is fluid. I am confused about the problem though. You said when you start it and have the clutch pushed in it makes a noise the you release it and it goes away but you said when you have it running it makes a noise and you push the clutch in the noise goes away. Am I understanding this correctly?

When I start it, it makes a loud metal to metal type sound when the clutch is pushed in. When I let the clutch out, it makes a squeaking noise unless my foot is touching the clutch. Two totally different sounds.
