Default emissions gear

The tube that is supposed to vent into the h pipe on mine is hanging beside the exhaust, there is no bung for it. It has been like this ever since i owned the car,and as far as I know all of my emissions stuff is intact. Could this be causing issues?

if the steel line that connects to the midpipe is disconnected, you'd have a exhaust leak. Also, since the line is not connected, you'd be making your smog pump worthless b/c it would push air out the end of the line instead of into the catts, which would decrease the life of catts.

The emissions functionality doesn't matter at all. There are no emissions inspections or tests here. The only time you inspect a car here is when you register it haha.

Where is the air that comes out of there from? Would it be better off if i capped it? I am mostly concerned about that it may be causing my slight backfires and popping I am getting in my exhaust.

that is the thermactor air injection tube and unhooked it will not cause any drivibility issues since your h-pipe doesn't have the provision
