Default 90 Mustang GT wiring problem...

Decided to leave Chevrolets alone so I just bought a 90 gt with no motor. When I bought it, it had no wiring harness under the hood. I took the wiring harness out of an old 89 gt and hooked it up. I havent put the motor in it yet but I thought with the harness in it the lights and all should work either way. (but it doesnt) I even touched the positive to the negative off the cylinoid and it doesnt even spark. Im really not sure where I went wrong. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

well i havent put the motor in yet.. i was told even without the motor in you should still be getting power to the lights and interior. Not sure thought I was sorta skeptical about that myself. I should have the motor ready to put in this weekend I just wanted to make sure the harness is working.

You will not get any power to anything unless you ground the main ground cable that goes to the motor.
