Default IAC delete?

i have seen some cars on the computer running a iac delete? what would be the point of this and what would have to be done to do this? wouldent you have ideling problems?

i've seen iac block off plates that delete the iac. I would think that deleting the iac wouldnt be a good idea for daily driver.

My car ran fine when I unpluged mine when it went bad, but I replace it.
