So want your car to be slow then? The #1 thing people do wrong when they build a motor is go with too big of a cam, lose a bunch of low end torque, end up having not enough vacum to run the power brakes and whole slew of other problems. Follow Vfast's advice and put in a smaller cam that has power in rpm that you use most often. I mean your car is basicly stock going to a huge lopy cam will only cause you more problems.

I agree with JD1969. Don't overdo your stock engine with a big cam. It's pointless and a waste of money.

the trickflow stage 1 is a pretty good choice. i think it makes power from idle to 5500 rpm or so. if this is a street car its likely it won't see more rpm than that. i hear its a pretty smooth idle but you can still hear it lope.

If you have you mind set on a cam and nothings going to change that, good cams for stock heads would have lifts of .480-.512. I wouldnt go with any bigger then that on stock heads.
