Default rearend swap!!!

i have a stock '86 notch 3.8L v6 i wanted to know if the rearend off my '84 5.0 gt will interchange with my rearend?
are the 5.0 rearends posi or lsd cause i notice on my gt both wheels spin the same way when it's on jack stands does that mean anyting?

i think the 84 is a 7.5 rear end. you wanna upgrade to the 8.8 if i were you.

The '84 (7.5" rear) will bolt right in! ...as stated ^^^, why not look for an '86-93 5L 8.8" rear, nic upgrade...

Just because both wheels spin when its on stands doesn't mean you have a trac lock (posi) rear end. Trac loc's take the load of the car moving on the ground to get it to work like you would think. If there is no load non trac loc and trac loc do the same, spin both tires.

well wen i got the car the guy i bought it off of said he put in a newer rearend i'm not sure wat year, but how can u tell if it's a 8.8 rearend?

Can you get a pic? One way to know is look at the brake line in the rear. Where does it attatch to the rear at then split? STOCK 7.5's have it at the passenger side. Unless it has been swapped that will let you know right off the bat.
