Well I just looked at the door tag and the axle code was z. So I guess I have 3.08's.

I HAVE 3:73 IN MY 88 GT AND IT HELPS ALOT YOU WILL FEEL IT BIG TIME BUT IF UR ON HIGHWAY ALOT I WOULD NOT GET 4:10S... 4:10S ARE TO MUCH FOR 5.0 BECUZ 5.0S ARE VERY TOURQEY TO BEGIN WITH NOW LIKE AN 02 GT OR SOMTHIN THATS ANOTHER STORY BECUZ THEY MAKE THERE POWER AT HIGHER RPMS SO THERE FOR 4:10S WOULD BE PERFECT FOR A 4.6 MODULAR ENGINE BUT WITH A T-5 TRANNY AND TOURQE 5.0 ENGINE GO WITH 3:73 BECUZ IT WONT REALY HERT UR TOP SPEED EITHER MY CAR IS BASCILY STOCK AND I BET A STOCK 03 GT ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 150MPH AND STOP LIGHT TO STOP LIGHT IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS SUPERCHARGED SOO GET THE 3:73....ITS A GOOD ALLL AROUND GEAR!!!

CAPS LOCK can be turned on and off. And gears are worth every penny no matter what kind. But i got 3.73's and a friend of mine has 4.10's. I wish i had gotten 4.10's now

Yep, I've heard about rotating the tires to find your gear ratio. I'm pretty sure I have the stock 3.08's only because it still has the factory exhaust with the pre cats, ashtray looks like it's never been used, still had the airsilencer (that thing came off the first day I bought it) on and it was only owned by one other person. I'd like to get 4.10's but if I decide to add a s/c later on I heard that that might be too much gear.

I have 3.73's, 5spd. Like settled4automatic says "your in 3rd gear easily before i get through a traffic light " I'm kinda of thinking going w/ 3.55's. It's not as tight as the 3.73's. Then maybe I'll be able get a little past that traffic light in 3rd, that would help me.

Depending on what other work is done it might be too much with a supercharger. The differance between 3.73's and 4.10's with a 5 speed will be about 200-300 rpms and you actually get better milage around town, but slightly worse milage on the highway. Most people who buy 3.73's wish they went with 4.10's. Be honest with yourself on how long you plan to stay N/A, if it is going to be a few years before you get a supercharger get the 4.10's. Most of the members on this site have not owned/built enough cars to be able to give a fair opinion, they only know about what they have and what they heard. I would get 4.10's

You're right. I probably wouldn't add a s/c anytime soon, so maybe I'll go with 4.10's. One of my old cars was a 78 Z/28 with a mildly built 350, 4 speed manual trans and 4.11 gears and it was perfectly fine on the highway. As long as I stayed under 65.LOL Now I just have to find a shop around here that will do it for a reasonable price.
