Default steering issue?

I have been having an issue with my steering lately, it happens at various speeds and it only happens intermittently. when i am driving straight occasionally the steering will go numb momentarily then start to pull to the left or right (not either way consistently) and when i am cornering or turning and the wheel is being held still, the car will not travel at a consistent angle, and the car will not straighten the wheel for me, i have to literally push it back. I have had the car for a few months before this started happening. The power steering fluid was slightly low, and i topped it off to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

just give your front suspension a good look over. checkfor bad tie rods, ball joint, wheel bearings. im not sure what would cause such a inconsistency in steering. weird...

something has to be loose or really worn, i could see if it was a quick jerk like bump steer, but that sounds much worse. it goes at random in to the left or right? does it go a different direction when u turn hard left or right- the direction it wanders to?

i thought it may have been something that had worn out but it happened so quickly that i was at a loss for a problem. i actually have a bad terminal i have to replace before i can go drive it again and play around with it and jerk real hard, but after i replace that i will let you know.

I know for a fact i have bad shocks and struts. I will definitely check those out... if the strut plates are bad should i just look for a junk yard replacement?

check tie rods, inner and outer and ball joints for loosness/ worn out, if all suspension stuff is tight, rack may be bad
