I want to do a cam, but people are saying that I have to pull the motor to do it. Or take apart the whole front end to pull the cam out.

and if I do a cam, how agressive should I go? I don't want it to lobe like crazy, but I do want the power gains over the e303 I have now. Someone said an x303, but don't know if I'll have to mod other things for clearance. Someone said I would have to notch the pistons.

well I would get a small daul pattern cam to get more lift on the exhaust..or you can just add some 1.7 rocker that will put you near .472 lift..a nice small increase

I got 1.6 because someone with the same heads said they barely cleared with 1.6. D*mn it! Do you really think 1.7's will work without clearance probs?

do you think it's worth doing? I can still return and exchange them to Summit for 1.7's.

thanks. I think I might just exchange them. I might even attempt to do the install with the help of a few others. Any other pointers or things to watch out for??

your lift with the 1.72s will be like .533 since they are about .35 added to the lift E cam is .498 so add .35

if you think you can then go ahead, reason i stated my last reply is its basic tear down knowledge but you do need to know some things when it comes to putting it back together.

if you get scared just ask

Oh, I'm hella scared-mostly about putting it back together and making sure it seals right and stuff. I can tear it down no prob, but I'm in the lack of knowing exactly how to do the pushrods and the rr.
