I need a postive +12, negative (ground), and brake light wire. Where are they located in the trunk and what color??

tryin to set up one of those led license plate frames. I grounded the black wire and I assume the positive is red? I spliced the red trunk wire but nothing.

you need to use a test light to find out what wires are hot(+). Pull off the panel in the trunk and follow the wires leading to the brake light.











P.S those liscense plate lights are ghey. if its the kind that i'm thinking of. i would rather have the color lights underneath the car than those.

You do realize if you're tapping the brake light wire it will only be hot when the brake is pressed right?

yea the brake light just makes it illuminate.
