Default electric water pump

Alright heres what I got goin on... Right now I just have a v-belt setup with an alternator and water pump running off the belt. I am swapping over to a serpentine belt setup; Alt, PS (already have the rack and pinion for PS), electric fan and electric water pump. What I need to know is What is the best electric water pump to install? I have seen some engines with electric water pumps and they have like an idler pulley or something on them to maintain stock belt length. do I need that pulley or can I just bypass the water pump and run around the alt, crank and ps pump? if not where do I get that idler pulley or whatever it is? sorry about the long post, wanted to lay it out there. thanks in advance to everyone who reponds

If I didnt have one with the built in pulley, would I just bypass that altogether with the serp belt and go from the crank to the alt around the tensioner to PS and back to crank?

I thought about all of that but it looks like one big belt mess and looks mattered to me so I spent a little more for the meziere

is it possible to do that though? im not worried about looks right now, Im gonna rebuild a new engine next year after my wife has our baby. Something to do to escape the house for a bit. what do you think? is it safe to run the belt from the PS pump to the crank without going around the water pump?

it's possible as long as you can find a way to tension it properly

sweet, yeah Im gonna be able to tension it, I am getting the Stock Alt bracket with tensioner so it will have that. I just wont have the water pump. This is what it is gonna look like.

Does that make sense? This should be fine right?

NOTE: This may not be to scale it is just a representation of what I am going to do. It is OK to make fun of or mock my PAINT abilities. Thank you

as long as nothing interferes with the rotation of the belt it'll work

wouldn't not running the idle pulley allow for less "drag" producing a some what better running engine? I'm curious about this as well! Are there advantages or disadvantages to running with or without the idle pulley? sorry for posting in your post Chaoss84GT50!
