Default cold air/air filter

i noticed some people have k&n filters and some people have cold air intakes...don't cold air intakes provide more power than a k&n. i know the power isn't much though. just thought i would ask a question that was curious about

k&n is the brand of fliter, cold air intake is the intake system, some people only run the filter sucking in hot engin air, the cold air intake relocates the k&n filter to inside the fenderwell where it can breath cool air

really if you can get a pro-m mass air meter and air filter for your car, the filter dose not use oil to catch dust and dirt it is washable with sope and water, all you do is clean it then put it back on after it drys, k&n use oil to catch the dirt and dust and that sticks on the mass air sensor and then you get idle issues and ofther problems.
