Default t-stat with elec waterpump??

if i want to run an electric waterpump do i still need to run a thermostat?

You still need a thermostat. The electric water pump doesnt turn off and on when the engine warms up or cools down. As I understand it, the electric pump runs the same as a belt driven pump... it just doesnt take power away from the engine. Are you running your car at the track or what is the reason for an electric pump?

Yes, you always need to run a thermostat, if not the engine will not reach a proper operating temperature and it will not run properly.

figured, just a street car never going to see the track. im just dont want to burn out a 300+ dollar csr pump running it on the street

why would it burn it out.....you do know the thermostat housing has a bypass hose that connects to the pump ...........you'll be fine

the csr pump i want dosent have a bypass hose goin to the t-stat housing?
