C6 in place of a t5
just trying to work out some details on a project i might be buying.
Found an 87 roller, with a nice built rear end and some other goodies that me and my girlfriend might split buying. There is also a guy selling a 460 thats been rebuilt and a C6 out of a 2wd f250 for a good price.
The 87 Gt was a manual T5 car before the engine and tranny were removed, what would it take to bolt the motor and the tranny into the fox. i know i should put spaces between the k-member and body to level out the motor and am looking at a swap kit from D&D automotive specialties.
Will it just bolt in place?
thanks for any help, it would just be a fun street car and id build up the 460 as time went on.

They make a kit just for this swap, It has headers (Hooker) engine mounts and oil pan. The C6 will bolt up to the cross member. It's a good swap. I think I'd be looking for a better 460. Try to find one out of a early 70's Lincoln Mark III. I bought one a few months ago complete(air cleaner on down) even with the A/C compressor and P/S pump with C6 transmission for 465 dollars. I had to make a 1100 mile round trip to get it but it's one of the best 460's out there

yea, i looked at the swap kits from: http://www.ddautospec.com/products_engineswap.html. Is there a better company out there, ive heard good things about this co. from hanging round on the 460 forum.
**** news is he sold the car, but i got my eyes out for another one, i have a 95 Gt in mind that has a bad motor in my parts.
Would there be any major changes with the SN95, ive heard the wiring harness's have some issues that foxes dont.
And i will keep an eye out, i wont buy the motor and tranny for a while yet anyway, theres a guy in my parts selling a 460 for $200 out of a "ford compressor" although ive never heard of a car called the ford compressor.

Well, i was doing some research and had some questions for you.
The block i was looking at is a D9TE, which i understand isnt quite as good as the early blocks (D0VE and such) but also read that the D9TE's had deeper cylinders and would be better for a stroker. This will be going in a street car, that'll be more of a show/weekend car. I wont stroke it untill the motor needs to be rebuilt, but do you think its just worth going with the latemodel block if i can find it cheap since i wont be dragging it

Also...(lol)
how much would it cost to build an AOD tranny that would handle the 600+ horsepower of the 460 (not saying ill have that much, but i would like to be prepared as i build it up more and more.) its 750.00 for the adapter to bolt the 460 to the AOD where it is 2400.00 to get an OD system on the C6.
