Bought an after market radio, used conversion wiring harness so I didn't have to cut into the original harness and everything powers up but there is no sound. I hooked the radio up to an extra speaker I had laying around outside of the car and it works fine. Any ideas?
I forgot to mention it's a 95 Mustang GT convertible.

Reason: forgot something
well if it works with the test speaker and not with the factory speakers i would assume you have something not connected right. did you get the right harness?

On the package, it says 94-00 Mustang Premium Sound.
im pretty much out of ideas other then go back, double check all your wiring. you might want to go to the section of the forum for audio help. those guys might be able to help you better
ive got an explorer with what sounds like the same stereo. im new to mustangs but im sure u have the same setup as my explorer. pull the panel off of the side of the floorboard on the passenger side of the car there should be some connectors there. im not sure what color goes to what but this is where the power comes out of the factory amp and its the easiest place to splice in and bypass the amp. if this sounds about right look up the wiring diagram and get ur colors for the wires splice in and jam out to your hearts delight i dont recommend cutting the wires just in case you decide to put back in a stock stereo to sell the car
