NO SPARK FROM COIL
ok the cars all back together, ready to start. we cranked and no start. we checked for power coming out of the coil wire while cranking and nothing. but there is power in both wires that go to the coil. we tried a second coil and nothing. any ideas? we did a few tests that my hanes manual said and it leads to a bad stator. but would that cause this?
*UPDATE* the stator and ignition module are now replaced. same problem. what other idea's do you guys have? |
yup...

you can purchase a ready made small harness expecially for the tfi set up but basically is ends up amplifying voltage to the coil , personally I don't think you need it on an n/a EFI SET UP, YOU NEED to find out why it has no spark, a simple noid light on an injector can tell you if the stator in dizzy is any good= should pulse the light:)
|
so if the stator is bad i'm not getting any inj pulse either?
|
you shouldn't because the stator produces what is known as the PIP signal which the ecm interprets as seeing a crank signal frm the engine and when it sees such it grounds the FP relay and therefore knows to pulse injectors:)

I assume it all worked before you took it apart right??? if so look fo something you may hace left undone such as a ground??, you didn't remove any wires from the selonoid did you?? if so are they back in correct spots??
