Default Electric Window Help

88 5.0 convertible -- my passenger side quarter window will not go down. When I use the window switch I can hear it "try" when I go up but absolutely nothing for down. I pulled the motor, dropped the window by hand and reconnected the motor. It went up when I hit the switch but still nothing on the way down.

I bought a new window motor and still get the same results.

I pulled the motor out and started checking voltage. At the connector the motor would plug into I get just short of 12V and -12V when I toggle the switch between up and down. If I reconnect the motor and check voltage I get just short of 12V up and 0 down. This is with either window motor, old and new.

I cut the connector off the old motor, stripped the wires and temporarily connected them to the connector on the switch side. The motor spins when I use the up. If I then swap the motor wires on the switch side connector and hit up the motor will spin the other direction. Still nothing for down.

The wires should just switch between + and - as the switch is toggled. If one of the wires were grounded I should never see the -12V with no motor connected. If it were the connector I think there would be problems both up and down.

Any ideas?
