Default 89 347 not starting?

Okay, heres the dealio, my brothers car ist starting. it cranks but doesnt fire, but apperently if he push starts it, it runs fine, and will start via starter from there after.... until it cools off i presume

what would cause this, im thinking its either fuel filter or pump, either one preventing enough fuel from going through the injectors at the 200rpm the starter provides, but im not sure, any other ideas?

when you turn on the ingintion you should hear the pump kick in, if you don't it could be the relay or the kill switch in the back of the car, check out a hayens manual to see where his is at. On my 86 it's inside the hatch on the back wall behind a rubber plug, the relay is on the drivers side of the engine compartment. But if it runs once started it sounds like an ingnition problem rather than a fuel problem. Check out that switch you just push it dwon to reset it, mine acts up when it gets cold. You can also stick a guage on your fuel line by your intake and it should give you a reading of approx 39psi.

based on your description it sounds like a cable or battery issue, is the problem it won't crank after sitting??? or cranks but won't start after sitting??? there is a difference ya' know, your thread title and description don't match up if I'm reading it correct
