Default What to do??? Help guy's

Just picked up a 89 5.0 lx in great shape. The engine is starting to get tired so just trying to find options. I have read up 337 strokers and 5.0 blocks that say they are 345hp. I will probably race this only a few times but would like it fast enough to beat these rice burners. This car does have a aod with a 2800 stall in it. any way any sugestions would be nice, I do have some what of a budget. when you guys did make the swap what did you do with the mafs, throttlebody, computers??? alot of questions sorry.

How fast do you want to go? How much do you want to spend? If you buy from a quality builder it's tough to beat a good crate motor.

www.fordstrokers.com
has some good stuff in your price range.
Jim (owner/operator of fordstrokers) is on here as well... username 'woodsy'

The stock ecu should be able to handle the increased stroke fairly well, but your MAF/Injector/ecu selection becomes more critical, as there is less room for error with the large displacement (due to erro in load calculations).
A custom tune via the J3 port would be beneficial, but not required...

why not get a 351w block and a 408 stoker kit while still enjoying driving the car while you do the build..it's a much better platform
