i went to the street drags today thinkin maybe ill win 1 or 2 races, well it was alot better day, i went down the track 12 times and won 9, i lost 2 2001-2002 bullit mustang and a 2001 mustang GT(already raced b4 he beat me), but one of the bullits said his car was rw dynoed at 295, all i have down 2 mine is exhaust and spark plug wires, i beat a camaro wit nos another camaro, another 5.0, a 72 chevlle ss, but what modification will give me the most bang 4 the buck, the 2001 gt is one of the fastest cars around and he beat everyone today and i only lost by 1/2 a car length and he said hes got 340-350 hp, but the bullits i only lost 2 by 1-2 fenders and i had 3 avg weigh friends in the car, i need lots of power and fast

well with exhaust and plug wires you're not doing anything.. Either the drivers are very poor, or there is something done to your car that you dont know of, or are not telling us.. A stock 5.0 won't keep with a 01+ GT that's for sure..

Get some gears and a set of aluminum heads.

AFR 165 and Cam will get you around 75+ HP. Then minor bolt ons like Rocker Arms, Cold air, manifold to really enhance what you are getting put on. I'd say with all that you could get around 110 HP. And if a cars pushing 290, they must be a bad driver if they lose to your car which is probably pushing 220 max.

also if you are thinking about using some more applications later on, such as a supercharger, nos, turbo, anything like that, you may want to look into a 185 instead with the bigger ports.

Yeah, just AFR's will drop you a second, cant go wrong with AFR's.. Made 85+ HP on a modified 5.0.....

Headers -- 10 hp----$130 and up
H-pipe -- 5 hp----$115 and up
K&N-type air filter and remove air silencer-- 5 hp----$35ish
Throttle body -- 5 to 10 hp----$150 and up
Intake manifold -- 15 hp----$300 and up
Don't forget about gears----$150 and up-No HP increase, of course, but the most performance bang-for-the-buck. I'm not a big believer in gears but................................

Subframe connectors $70 and up
Electric fan----$125 and up


FYI.....my 87GT with 2 1/4" Dynomax cat-back, pullies, 70 TB/EGR, K&N w/silencer removed, and Jacobs ignition would walk my buddies 01GT and I have 2.73 gears. I did a dyno with the addition of electric fan and FPR with 225hp and 298tq to the wheels.

well the drivers werent the best but still i was gettin alot of compliments bout my car running so good and bein basiclly stock, ive told you everything i got done to the car, but since i work at a machine shop, this winter the engine is gonna b bored out 2 a 347 make it a stroker, aluminum gt 40 turbo swirl heads, 1.77 rr, trickflow intake system, cold air, underdrive pulleys, camshaft, balance the engine out, forged pistons, and eventually a supercharger most likly the vortech lvl 2, how much do you think ill be pushin for ponies and torque
