pcv hose collapse

pcv hose collapse

What could or would cause the hose that comes off of the pcv to completely collapse. This is on a 4.6 but it should not matter I guess.

oil soaked/contaminated due to age, rubber deteriorates when subject to oil vapors over a long period

It did look original, thats for sure. And the car is a 94

I'll be one of the first to agree with those possibilities!
I'm fortunate enough to say I still have the OE PCV hose after almost 20 yrs though
