Question 302 block ?

I just tore down my engine this past weekend and found that the number 1 cylinder has a nice score in it. My motor is already .030 over and i just dont know what the max is that a stock block can be taken out to. I was just wondering if I could take it past .040 because I know it would need to be.

If it comes down to it I will just end up buying an Iron Eagle block. But my only question about that is do they come pre-machined and ready for assembly.

I took my old 83 model block to .060" over and beat on it for about 3 years N/A before it broke more rings and tore it down again.

It needs to be sonic checked now at its current bore size, then do the math to see how thick it will be on the major thrust side of the bore at 4.060. I have run many, many 4.060 blocks with no ill effects. No the iron eagle or ANY aftermarket block is nowhere near machined and ready for assembly. And if you are contemplating using your stock block, you certainly are not making enough steam to warrant an iron eagle block, unless 1500+hp is in your near future, and i will assume its not.
