Default Cam question

im looking at buying a trick shot stage 2 cam for my 89 my question is can i just put the cam in or do i need to get the springs retainers and rocker arms

Yes you have to match the springs to the cam. Also make sure your heads and intake match the cam or youre in for a let down

havent gotten nothing together yet but looking at the trick shot cam and runnin a set of ported stock heads with bigger intake and exhaust valve

I'd go aluminum head, stock anything ,even if it is modified is often not worth the money unless you can get it dirt cheap
