Default Breaking in Gears????

I just had 3.73 gears install and I was wondering is there a certain time frame that I should use to break them in before I really get on it or can I go ahead and see what the car will do?

Well some will say put 500 miles on it... Some will say 3 or 4 heat cycles... I say if it doesn't make any uncommon noises give it hell!!!

I just put a set of 3.73's in my car this past weekend also, and i gave it hell right off the lift and she is perfect.. But in some cases better safe than sorry...

Good Luck

I'd say give it a couple heat cycles and listen for any noises(whining, clunking, etc.) and if all is good romp on it.

If it breaks, it breaks. No amount of babying it is going to save it if something was done wrong.

as stated ^^^^, you'll "hear" them if they're put in wrong!

After I put a set of gears in I run then in forward for about five minutes then in reverse for a few minutes and take them out for a 10 minute drive making several turns to the left and the right. I bring them back to the shop and if the customer was waiting I tell them just to be gentle on them that day. When they get up the next morning after they had at least 6 hours to cool they can beat the hell out of them. On my own cars I'll run them in and let them cool on the trailer on the way to the dragstrip and let them rip.
