Default 88gt exhaust - needing today

i am in need of replacing/repairing one of my mufflers. cost for repairing is about $40. I'm looking at picking up some mac produmps today. i was told the dumps are 2 1/2. i believe the h-pipe on stock is 2 1/4. will there be a problem connecting these. also there is a offroad hpipe that does not have the runs that go to the headers. what are those parts called that go from the header to the h pipe so i can see if i am wanting to pick that up also. i believe the hpipe is also 2 1/2.

thanks for the quick response

I believe the part your referring to in a collector? The only prob I could see is when they try and swell the stock h-pipe to fit to the I.D. of the dump, it may crack, depending on how bad the stock is. Either way have them weld it all in. I personally hate using clamps. Hope this helps.

I believe they make reducers that you can connect a 2.5" and 2.25" pipe together without trying to expand the smaller pipe. You should be able to pick them up at a good exhaust shop or even some parts stores carry them, at least they did back home in Minnesota. Hope that helps

I wouldn't waste time weldinga 2 1/4 flowtube to the 2 1/2 mufflers, just buy the correct flowtubes

i got the mac pro drops, without the hpipe. they bolted right up no prob. sounds deep. thunder sounding. i like it. i'll just wait and get a 1 piece hpipe (if i can). it also made the ride a lot smoother when hitting higher rpms then those old rust filled mufflers. thanks for the help.
