You don't need to worry about the bottom end till you cross the 450-500 HP mark, and by then you've picked up a lot of engine building tips. Or, you just learn the way all the old-timers have, build it, it breaks, build it again, only better. Fortunately, 5.0's are pretty cheap and are not irreplaceable.
because I didnt know exaclty what a main girdle was? Someone said stud girdle and it sounded a little wierd to me for a second.

when do the stock 5.0 blocks tend to be tempermental? as far as hp goes NA?
