Look at my 331 build!! and what cam choice

Hey im ordering the following this week

- Probe SRS flat top pistons with forged rods(cant remember h or i beam) with cast crank
-Im reusing my iron heads because i cant afford aluminums right now and the heads have the following
-1.94 and 1.6 Swirl polished valves,
-Stiffer springs, and good retainers and everything
-Screw in studs
-Exhaust porting
-pocket porting
-smoothed down around the combustion chamber

so what Off the shelf cam should i go with i want a lump idle, i THINK my valve springs are good up to either 550 or 600 there off afr heads,

and i will be using my edelbrock rpm intake and my holler 670 avenger because i already have them, i also have 4:10s, AOD tranny and wil be throwing a stall in there with shorty heads h pipe and flowmaster 40s,

O and im getting my heads check for the CC size and what the valve springs can hold upto for a cam! but i was told with 58cc heads the flattops would be around 10:1

AND YES I KNOW i should go with better heads intake and carb but i cant afford it right now so these will have to do,

ya i will know everything FORSURE tomorrow my headas are at the machine shop being check but i wont find out tomorrow but im prety sure the valve springs are good up to .600 lift and online it says those heads have 57-60.1cc chamber heads but like i said tomorrow i will no for sure

valve springs are not matched to a cam based on lift requirements, just because you have a cam with .XXX LIFT does not mean since you have springs currently on your heads good to .YYY LIFT mean that things will operate smothly, opening and closed pressures, rate and bind for what ever cam you choose are some things that need to be examined

If those are stock afr springs when they were using the 11/32 valve stuff, those springs are junk. You will experience valve float on run of the mill hyd roller shelf cams.
