Replacing Clutch
My clutch just took a big sh*t on me and i am about to start pulling the tranny out tomorrow at work, and i was just wonderif if there is anything i should know about before i get stated. I have heard that the self adjusting mechanism is a pain. I will be using a lift at work and i have all the tools to do the job but i have never never pulled a tranny out of a mustang so i dont know what to expect.

remove shifter from above= pull up console partially, remove h-pipe, driveshaft, un bolt tranny from bellhousing = makes it easier to access bellhousing bolts, undo clutch cable from fork, remove crossmember, remove any elec harness connected to tranny, unbolt bellhousing and there will be the clutch once housing is removed, from there it's all cake, make sure you have an alignment tool also

I've always also did the console and shifter thing like mjr46 but the last time I yanked my transmission I did not remove the shifter. Remove the bezel, upper boot and shifter arm.
When you remove the crossmember the engine and trans will tilt down at the shifter will clear the car.
A swivel 15mm is a handy tool for the top trans to bellhousing bolts.
