My car is broken down. It shut off while I was driving, about a mile after I exited the freeway (I was on the freeway for about twelve miles). For the last couple of months it has had two problems. They might be related. I’d like to know. One is a problem with the gas tank. Whenever I top-it-off, some gas will leak from the gasket where the tank connects to the line where the fuel enters. The other problem is when it accelerates it loses power for a second, a few times in a row. And when I try to start it, it sounds like it’s going to start but it doesn’t turnover. Are any of these related? What could be wrong with the car? About how much should it cost to get it running? Is it an easy fix? Could I do it myself?
