Default dual exhaust vs fuel pump (space issue)

So today when I went to put on the bbk xpipe I bought to convert my 1984 to dual exhaust the exhaust manifolds were too small anyway that besides the point... Gonna find some used headers from the dual exhaust fox bodies. Anyway my problem is on the passenger side the muffler's spot is being taken up by the fuel pump. If I can move the fuel pump how would I move it and where to?

Let me let you in on a little secret, 84 and 85 both had the cfi option as you know, 84 had a dual pump set up, low in tank and high pressure mounted right where you state.........I would not mount mufflers close to it......however, in 85 there was the addition of dual mufflers and tail pipes, if it were me, what I'd do is remove the external high pressure pump and plumb the proper line in place of it and install a 85 pump in place of the low pressure one in your 84 tank, in 85 cfi models there is only one intake pump and it consists of a high pressure pump

the fuel pumps are the same so it doesn't matter what year pump you get for it as long as it's 85 or newer

Got a tank from a 1990 mustang that has a pump that has never been it.. Left it on the ground to test it. Runs fine just gotta replace sending unit with my old one. Because it shows full when I have like 2 gallons in it. Thank you

yeah, know that. But the tank was part of the deal.
My tank had a old and wearing away wiring harness and a huge dent in it.
The new tank had a really nice wiring harness and has a small dent in it.
Total cost of tank, harness and never used pump was $75
