Whatever heads he you get unless they are TFS you are going to need notched pistons.

true.......i did forget about having to notch the pistons......so, forget tfs unless you wanna do a new set of pistons notched for tfs heads, or wait til you do a stroker or something to that effect if you ever plan on goin "all out" with it

the afr's are the best bang for the buck, they come from the
factory cnc ported out of the box.edelbrocks are not
ported they are just cnc machined.out of the box the afr's
are the better head and you can do more with them.

afr's are good heads...the only complaint i have about them is the weak valve package they came out with..
i bought mine the 1st month they came out...max lift is .544 and duration like mine 224/230 will cause valve float[:'(].....i will say this much i had ported/o-ringed rpm heads, and the hp gains was night, and day..... wish i dynoed to compare the two.... but it was a big difference.

But out of the box, MUCH better times and HP #'s are seen with the AFR's hands down... Just look through the ports on each head, you'll see the MAJOR difference..

these are good heads that you all mentioned. i think you can run the tfs-tw with 2.02 valves with out notching the pistons, something you can not do with the other heads. if you want a more race head you can run the tfs high port head but may require notched pistons, not sure on these. good luck.
