I went to put on the driver side for the xpipe and the link connected to the trannsmission is to close to the pipe. Won't let me shift the gears because its in the way. Anyway to solve this?

What brand of X-pipe? May say not for auto trans in the foot notes.

I'm old school, I only use an H-pipe

The instructions say 86-up, but I realize that you have 88 stock headers and a double hump crossmember.

Does the front pipe clear when bolted to the header and not attached to the rear section? Or does it not hang low enough either. If it clears, I would try bending the hanger bracket down so that the rear section of the X hangs lower.

Bending the hanger won't help Because the part that drops the x pipe (in red on picture) is always the same length. so bending the part that sliding into the hanger (in blue on picture) would make no difference. And when I did bent the part that sliding in it wouldn't go in far enough.

(picture is just an example not my car)
