How much Hp before & after ?

Think I'm going with the 3 core - self contained - procharger and keeping the boost @ 12psi and adding a cage & some control arms. Talking to a shop in Texas, seems their tech support is good so I guess I should spend the $4400 + that they want for the blower for when I have questions on the install and setup. Also would like to come across someone with extensive knowledge on tweecer to dial it in after. Any one with a similar setup ?

What Texas shop are you looking at? Also, I am knowledgable at the Tweecer. I would send you some base tunes. However, since you are a Fox(I have a more sensitive computer), and you are running a different set-up, it would be hard to work with. The only problem with Tweecer is not alot of shops I've been to know how to work it. They all use the SCT chips. Some haven't even heard of it.

I dont know why somebody would not just upgrade to atleast a DSS short block when gunning for anything over 425/450hp. It just seems like such a small investment and it could save alot of money, time, and aggravation(sp?). Just my opinion but with what you have listed I would not take the chance because it seems you have alot of money into your curent setup so whats another $700-$1000 investment if it means saving the parts you currently have(namely the heads)

I agree with upgrading to a stronger shortblock. The stock internals of a Mustang though can handle some extreme horsepower. It's all dependent on the tune. The problem with the D.S.S Shortblocks is once you hit 500rwhp, you're back in the same situation as the stock shortblock. It's because D.S.S uses stock blocks. And it's only a matter of time before they split. I think a Boss block would be a wiser investment. Although it is pricier.

It's a very good question, I'd like to know that as well. However, I have heard that the Mexican Block(302) are slightly stronger than vast production blocks. It was more of replacement block, although it was used in production. They have a higher nickel content with the thicker main webs. Somewhere on the block there is a M to denote
that it was produced in Mexico such as 302M. They have thick wall castings as well.

All your guys comments make sense. The problem is there are no speed shops anywhere within 2 days of me. From bone stock till now we have managed to do all bolt ons and setup ourselves. I don't want to do without the car for the better part of the summer and we do not have the time nor the experience to start building from the bottom up. Thats why I was going with a SC that was overkill on my current setup and use the "safe" 12psi for now and after getting the motor sent away and built next winter be able to use the same unit except move the boost to 20-25psi next spring. All that said if thats the wrong way to go about it I'll leave well enough alone this year and do it right next season. Just looking for more this season - AS ALWAYS. Every part on the car I bought new and I don't want to spoil them. Rather do it right the first time. Thanks for your help!
