Default timing cover install alignment question

guys
when i put the timing cover on, is there any wiggle room to worry about so that the balancer fits properly inside the round timing cover crank gasket?
or once i bolt the timing cover on it will automatically be perfect?
thanks

Nope just put it on. There is no kind of alignment needed for the balancer.

Yes, there are alignment dowels in the block/timing cover that line everything up. Then the balancer will slide over the crank and into the crank seal. I suggest renting the install tool from Oreilly, Autozone, etc

You need the installer tool. You risk stripping the crank threads out.

Autozone has them as loaner tools if you don't want to spend the money to buy it.

The kit they have includes the puller and installer all in one. Pay the deposit and then you get it back when you bring the tool back.

I've put them on a bunch of times without the tool, as long as it's square and oiled it's always gone well. But if you don't want to worry about messing things up, get the tool.
