changed my steering rack, bled the lines and finally took it for a test drive, but when i turn it left to right i get a irritating wind noise out of it. will the alignment take care of this or is my pump shot.

most likely no an alignment won't take care of pump noise. make sure the fluid isn't all foamy, after a rack change and bleed procedure, expecially if you try and bleed it while running the fluid will become aireated and foamy....proper bleeding is lock to lock 20 times about with motor not running, and be careful not to push the fluid out of the resevoir.

let it settle out then, it may take 20 min to do such then test drive it again.
