Default 331 Stroker Block Comparison

I am upgrading my 302 to a 331 stroker. I was wondering if using my stock block and getting it machined to a 331 is just as good as an aftermarket block, such as a Dart or something else. What are the advantages/disadvantages to just using my original block or should I go with an aftermarket?

you can use the stock block but a aftermarket block is stronger. I have a 331 stroker on a stock block and it runs great i dont have any problems with it so i would just use the stock block unless you are going to be making a lot of HP

The only major upgrades after the new motor is a supercharger. Nothing real big only a 6-9 psi. My original block won't have any problems with that upgrade? Oh, a NOS kit eventually, too.

sure it can handle that it can handle that now but something you need to do some research on is since you are going to put on a SC you need a low compression engine 8.5:1 or so
