cage / subframe Q
OK so I am gonna be building a 6pt cage and was wondering if subframes were necessary? if so do them like normal or what about running along the mounting points (front 4) of the cage?

You could put a cage in without the sub frame connectors. But why, it would be pointless. The whole reason on putting a rollbar/cage in a car is to stiffen the chassis the frame connectors facilitate this. To do this right I recommend contacting Team Z or Wolfe for through the floor frame connectors. The cage would get welded directly to these connectors and stiffen the chassis and cage.
The pictures below are Team Z frame connectors. They were not welded in at this point and do not show the welding plates that go in front of the torque box and on the rockers at the end of the out riggers. The cage gets welded to the out riggers. I should be able to post some completed photos with the cage installed this weekend.

PJC thanks for your reply the reason for the cage is only for rollover protection not for any racing application. i dont like the idea of the fame connectors coming inside the car for the same reason; DD, carpet....
the cage i am building is gonna be based off of MM 6pt cage. i was just wondering if instead of the normal place for the sub connector, can I go from the underside of the front 4pt's and connect 2 pieces there?
thanks for your input

You can use standard under frame connectors but you need to weld/bolt them to the sub frames not under the cage points, this would not strengthen the chassis and wouldn't do much for the cage in relation to body either. For the cage you will have to weld/bolt the cage with 6"x6" plate steel to the floor. Your cage kit should come with the plates. Either way, the carpet will have to be pulled back to install the cage kit.

what about the down bar next to the seat back, thats the one people hit usually. I know you have a vert, and all but lots of times with a cage/bar in a street car you go from one safety problem to another. just something to consider.
