My headlights went off only the highbeems works but only when you hold the them when you let them go they shut off how can I fix it

may have a bad multi function switch.

pull the switch out for the lights and see if its melted in back. I had the same problem I guess this is common on stangs. I had to buy a new head light switch. make sure you label the wires so you know back where they go. also you may not have enough wire slack to just pull the switch out from the console so be prepared to rip it down to the cluster.

Check the bulbs as well to make sure the filaments are good
