ya turbo lag is pretty muc hnot an issue as long as the car is well thought out and put together. you do need to do more work for a turbo car to get it running, but both require some skill around the shop and what you are doing. If you go turbo i would stay clear of hp performance... all i have heard is bad things from them (tho magazines seem to support them.....) B&G turbos, and pony down make very well put together kits! look on www.turbomustangs.com

i'm pretty sure with all else being equal turbos will always make more power.

^^^^^^^ Same here I have had both and raced both on the same car and same engine I will not go back to a S/C. for street or race I prefer the turbo any day.
