no not all really....the trans stays in...unbolt it from the bell houseing and leave the tranny on the jack wile still in the vehicle....i have an engine jack (cherry picker, whatever people call it) and it would be much easier to take the motor out then to try pick up the tranny by myself and put it back in place, but im gonna tray to do what mjr46 is telling me to do and if that doesnt work then out comes the motor

i just had my engine jacked up with a 2x4 under each engine mount to hold it up from the k-member, i took off the steering rack and that barely had enough clearance. I did have to rotate it 90 degrees when i got to the sway bar though.

thanks for the help guys....i got the pan out....i unbolted the rear k member bolts and wedged a screw driver in there and it pretty much just came out so now im just waiting for the parts to slap it all back together
