Which Balancer

Which Balancer
When I first built my 347 I needed a 28oz balancer yet one that will work with the pulleys. I ended up going with a CAT brand one (big mistake). I needed to make a 1/2" spacer so the pulleys would align. It started to hammer out the bore and beat on the crank. Only reason I caught it was because they belt flew off two years ago after big burnout hitting 7000 .
I had a balancer that the guy threw in with the stroker kit. It was stock Ford and had a part number starting with E3....1983. It's been on there since. Needed no spacer.
I just tore down the front of the engine to start replacing the timing chain cover gasket and the rubber is starting to peel out the back of it so I figured it would be a good time to replace it. Which one should I use? The engine will be revving 6600 MAX.

Here's a trick I learned the hard way. After you install the balancer, stick your finger in there and feel the crank snout. The lip of the balancer should be past the crank snout by at least 1/8". If it doesn't, your balancer and crank won't last long.
For a low RPM application like that, and quality balancer from Jegs or Summit will work fine. I'v put a lot of miles on a Fluidamper with no issues.

the only bad thing is that spacer is held on by 2 little screws, and imagine spinning it 6k+... thats why im replacing mine

This is what I'm running on mine. I've been using them since they came on the market for automotive applications. Saw a 15 hp increase in power over a brand new stock balancer without a single change except for the balancer on 461 cubic inch Big Block Chevy. It went from 560 to 575 hp and was able to gain 200 rpm. Ive been using them on all my personal engines ever since. Main bearing wear has become a thing of the past. I did have to buy a 65 dollar March spacer to get the pulley alignment right on my 347
