Default Car dies

Just bought an '89 last weekend. Seems to be in good shape. Usual bolt-on goodies. Having one problem. Car is an AOD with Trick Flow intake, BBK cold air kit, E303 cam, SVO under drive pulleys and full exhaust. Have only driven it 4 or 5 times since buying it. One time the CHECK ENGINE light came on. Hasn't happened since, but I still have one problem. Not every time, but every so often when you come to a stop and the car idles the engine RPM's will slightly fluctuate and then the car will die. It always fires right back up. Could this problem along with the ENGINE light coming on have something to do with a faulty emission sensor or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

perform a koer test and pull the code, it may have a issue with the IAC motor but first thing to do is pull codes via DIY KOER TEST

I've read about doing the DIY method in a Haynes Manual and was a little confused. Is it really that difficult to do?

Could you do me a favor? I also just posted another question (I think an easy one) titled Fuel Pressure Question. Could you read that one and respond back. Like I said I'm sure it is a simple one, just thought I would ask. Thanks.

Saw that, thanks. By the way, good looking '85. Like I said before, I just picked this car up last weekend. Really looking forward to getting back into the Mustang thing again.
