I just used some 5/8 threaded rod and cut some notches in them for a flathead and screwed them right in. I also heard that a spark plug can be used. Not sure if its true though.

ive never once seen a 5/8" coarse thread spark plug.

and allfordmustangs.com has it listed as 9/16".... good thing I'm always here to say that its wrong!

most people just find something that "kinda fits" but they are relying on the carbon thats in the threads to hold that crap in place.

When I did mine, I cut grooves into the end of the bolt, into the threads, so it acted like a thread chaser on its way in, and actually cleaned the threads out. Like a tap!
I just had to go back and fourth a few times

Like I said, I heard a spark plug worked. But I did use a 5/8 rod to get mine in and it was tight as hell.

When you say you cut grooves i assume you mean you notched the bolt lenghtwise or do you just mean you tappered the end more?

notched length wise, but on an angle, with a deeper cut at the beginning of the bolt

I had to run a tap on the passenger side, but I didnt have room to do that on the dr side because the firewall was too close so I did just that with the little plate and gasket and it is working just fine. Thanks for all the help fellas!
