only to those that are stupid enough to go buy those....

go to a hardware store, get two 5/8-11 bolts 1" long, and use a washer on each with red rtv

Those bolts are too small. There are two holes. One for the bolt and one for the pipe. The pipe hole is the one that has to be plugged.

The smallest bolts i could find at home depot were like 3" long so i had to cut them down to like an inch or so, used a few washers and snugged them up.

This might be some help to some of you who go to plug the holes with bolts and run into the same problem I did. My holes were so clogged with soot that I couldn't get the bolts to thread in. So I came up with this alternative solution.

Here is a pic of the back of the head and what the holes look like.

I cut small plates out of some 3/32 steel I had laying around to roughly the same shape as the gaskets that connect the smog tube to the heads.

Then I drilled small holes where the little bolts go that hold the smog tube in place.

Here's a pic of the passenger side installed... you can see it in the mirror I'm holding. I used a little rtv on the gaskets to make sure they don't leak.
