Default what h/c should i get

Wondering what the best cyl. heads and cam combo would go best with what I got.
-BBK SSI intake w/ 70mm tb
-Pro-M 75mm MAF, with Mac fenderwell CAI
-30# injectors (tuned down a lil)
-Underdrive pulleys
-Alum. radiator w/ 2-12" electric fans
-HD Alum Weiand water pump
-MSD Dist., 6al box, Blaster 2
-3.55 gears (might get some 4.10''s for free)

Everything is dependant on what kind of goals you have for the car. If It's a daily driver and still has the stock bottom end and you are going to keep it that way for a while I'd probably do a set of AFR 165 heads and a Comp XE266HR cam with the 3:55 gears.

The AFR 165 flows better with 1.90 valve than a Trick Flow Twisted wedge street head that uses a 2.02 valve and the smaller valve reduces the chance of PTV clearance issues althought the valve layout on the twisted wedge can use a larger valve.

You could still use your SSI intake with this combo if you wanted. The cam only has 216 degrees of duration on the intake side so that will also minimize Piston to Valve clearance and has enough lift to maximize the heads great flow (for a smaller head)

There are two styles of BBK SSI intake, One looks like a double row of tubes and the other looks like a Trick Flow Box R intake. If Yours is the one with the double row of tubes I'd consider using it. The power range on the intake is 1500-6500 and will work OK with the heads and cam I listed for you. The price you get for it and the differance you have to pay Vs the power gain you would get from a RPMII may not be justified. If your SSI is the box type I'd shuck it.

You still need to always check for PTV clearance but in this case I feel pretty certain you would be fine and the power gains will be substancial

Yea i the SSI manifold i have has the twin row look. Yea right now im not looking into changing anything in the bottom end. I have plans for an 351w engine swap and a complete build up based around a weber style Inglese efi 8 stack with 50mm indiv. t/b's. So right now until i save up most of the money and figure out what all i want to put into that build, Im just lookin at some small performance increases without getting to in depth.

i wouldnt buy heads, or an intake for a 302 if you are planning on building a 351! the heads that would work great on a 302 would CHOKE the hell out of a 351, and the intake would obviously be different, so that would have to be changed again.
might as well get a shot of nitrous, or gears to hold yourself over till you build a 351

Well i wont be swapping anything over to the 351 from the 302. I plan on selling the 302 with tranny and exhaust and everything all together then start from scratch with the 351

but you will loose so much money if you do that! why dont you just start building your 351 now, it makes much more sense instead of sinking money into an engine that you have no plans of keeping in the first place

When people tell me they want to build what they have and then plan on a new engine I take it with a grain of salt. Normally the dream engine doesn't happen. Smart people drive what they have and build the engine they want and then drop it in. It takes someone with more money than they know what to do with to buy a set of nice heads for an engine that won't bring squat just to drive until the dream motor is built. A smart person who actually plans on building that "dream engine" would spend the money they were going to dump on a head and cam combo and build a stout rearend, suspension upgrades, transmission upgrade and things like that in prep for the new engine.

+1 on build it now. I'd do the 4.10s, and with the 8 stack set up i assume you plan on making alot of power, (theres a few companies making those set ups now btw so do your research) so while your doing the 4.10's upgrade the carrier and axles and brakes. The 4.10's should help with the need for speed, and then you can build your suspension and tranny up to prep for the motor.

Btw, why the weber set up, i think theyd look more at home in a A/C cobra or a gt40 replica (daytona coupe comes to mind)
