Default smog pump delete

i'm wanting to remove my smog pump. if its not needed and will free up some space and weight, why not? i'm in FL so no need of emissions issues. i am wanting to keep everything in place for a little just to make sure there arent any problems for a lil, and if there are, i can just put the old belt back on and connect the vacuums.

q. the 2 lines that need to get plugged coming from the back of the heads, can they be plugged at the line that comes out to where the hoses connected, instead of at the back of the heads? bolts are tight, hard to get to, and wanting to keep it for a lil so if it needs to get hooked back up it wont take long.

you CAN cap it off at the tube... but its not the best way to do it.

Sorta like holding your front bumper on with duct tape and bubble gum... it works, but its the the right way to do it

i'm only concerned about keeping it to where it can be hooked back up quickly only cuz i heard of issues with waterpumps from using a shorter belt. UP's except alt, had to use a 75.5" belt. 76" rubbed and anything shorter really didnt want to go on. hearing a lil noise from the AC that i didnt notice before. i want to plug it properly but dont want to have to hook it all back up if other things just go south with it off. kinda in a testing phaze i guess.

You can plug it like Adder said and that would allow you to hook it back up quickly if need be.

Then when you do you head gasket change you can plug them off at the back of the heads.

that was my idea on keeping those until there i had to go in further and had some more room.

the sensor type plugs that go to the vacuum lines, can those be completely removed or do they have to be plugged to something?
