My 87 5.0 vs 00 GTP?
I was playing cards tonight and my buddy just got a 00 gtp. I told him we would race but im pretty confident i would take him. This other guy there was like oh man those gtp's are fast as hell my "1995 gt that had a 5.0" in it got smoked. I was like 1st off 95's had a 4.6 and your gt must have had nothing done to it plus the gtp had to have some stuff in it. I have 8.8 rear end which was on the car supposedly when i bought it and supposedly a 1993 302 roller motor which was rebuilt. My car smoked a 02 gt the other night. Im pretty confident i could take the gtp you think i have a chance. Hes got an auto i have a 5 speed

First of all... For your information the 1995's DID have 5.0's NOT 4.6's...
Second of all... Your 1987 came Factory with the 8.8" Rear end, so I hope it was "supposedly" in the car when you bought it..
Lastly, stock for stock the Front Wheel'd Supercharged GTP would take a stock 87GT...

what do 5.0's run stock? just curious i can never seem to find a site which tells the truth in what they run stock i own an 86 gt and its bone stock i just traded it for my other 86 gt lol also went from a 5-speed to an auto so im curious what my 86 gt auto runs my buddys 91 lx bone stock auto beats me everytime not ashamed just gives me something to work on

also that 302 comes stock in ur gt too lol, anyway stock lx's r supposed to run 14.9-15.1 depending on driver, gt's more like 15.1-15.3 cause of the weight. Stock gtp's go 15.0 consistently, 14.9's maybe but ive driven them and they dont really feel all that fast. So stock for stock i'm givin it to the gtp but not by much. Once u start throwin some mods on there tho the 5.0 will eventually become faster mod for mod.
