uh... well there's really no trick other than needing the "tightness" to be just right.... oh and be in the right gear you want! lol Took me awhile to figure that out when I was installin it! there's probably a more in depth answer on its way

this may sound dumb but i when from a t5 to a aod and i dont know where you hang the shifter cable. i dont see any holes and its pretty long where it might get caught up in the driveshaft. i got it on the tranny and the shifter but dont know where to hang the slack
