Question about c&l performance mass air meter
Im putting together a 302 for a friend. I sent him to the local speed shop to order parts ,I had told him to order a 75mm mass airflow meter calibrated for 24lb injectors. I thought we were getting a granatelli motorsports maf meter but apparently the guy at the shop said he could save my friend a couple of bucks by getting the c&l meter. Well the parts showed up and what we recieved was a 73mm maf meter. It says in the instructions that you are to use the factory sensor and swap it on to the c&l meter. Is this the way it works. How is this suposed to be calibrated for 24lb injectors when you are using the stock sensor thats just going into a bigger housing. Plus i was told from another source that for the combo we are going to run needs a 75mm maf not a 73(the top end of the engine is a trick flow track heat kit). Should i send the meter back or is it going to work. Building and tuning a fuelinjected motor is new to me so any info is greatly appreciated.

RE: Question about c&l performance mass air meter
the c&l meter uses calibrated tubes inside the maf to determine the injector size. yes you still use the stock electronics
as far as it being too small, if your running a 70mm tb or smaller, the 73mm maf will be fine. the maf cant flow more air then the tb no matter how big it is
