How to tell if T5 is good with it out of car

I am going to pick up a world class t5 this weekend. It is already out of the car. Will just shifting it through the gears on the ground tell it its in ok shape. My current one shifts like crap both running and not.

you could always split the case and inspect all the syncros gears etc...

You'll need to tear it apart to tell for sure

as stated, you'd have to pull tailshaft and top and inspect stuff
